On November 2nd San Francisco became the first major US city to pass a law on controlling give-away toys with unhealthy restaurant meals marketed at kids.

McDonald’s started to sell the Happy Meals in 1979 with toys. In 2006, fast-food companies spent more than $520 million on advertising and toys to promote meals  children, according to the US government.
