On a cold evening in November 1991 , four-year-old Nora Gross and her father Teddy were walking      Broadway , a busy    in New York City .
   they were walking , little Nora saw a homeless man . He was sitting with light clothes at the corner of the street .She asked her father ,“Can we take him home ?” Her dad       no , but he began to think about how they they might help the homeless people.
The Gross family had a jar full of small change at home .Teddy knew lots of people liked       the small change in jars . He thought      he collected , or harvested the change in jars , he could give the money to the homeless people .
That night Teddy went home and wrote a letter to his neighbors asking them to give     change to homeless people in New York City . When Teddy and Nora returned from their neighbors , they were surprised to find they collected over 900 dollars. They gave all the    to help feed and clothe the homeless people of New York City .
Today ,children all over New York City and New York States harvest change . They       a program     the Penny Harvest to help people in need .
As Nora Gross said ,“Even if I can’t change the whole world , I can change part of it .And if everybody does a little ,who knows, maybe we can change the world .”
