Welcome to our English Corner. It set up about four years before. Since then on many high school students have joined in it. The students from different schools gather round on Sunday mornings, and there are also some college students or foreigners. We talked about everything we know and show interest in. We also exchange our effective method in English learning. We think we have learned much here.
The English Corner is a really addition to our English class and popular with students. Parents and teachers appreciate them very much because they all believe it is of great help to their children. If you want to know much about it, you may talk to students here.

I’m writing you because I’m interested in the job you offered it to help with two children. I would like to know some informations in detail. Would you please tell me how many hours should be spent with the children every day? However, how many languages and what languages are requiring to use with the children? I’m from China and French is my second foreign language when I was at the university. So I can teach Chinese and French. How about meals if accommodation is available with a foreign student? The last question is how the work starts? Now or a short time later?

Last Sunday I am about to leave the Green Lake Park when I met a foreign visitor whose seemed to be lost. I tried to help him but I found we had difficulty in understand each other because of my poor English. Just at that moment, tall young lady came to our help. He spoke very good English. With her help, the foreign visitor finally found the way but I learned some English as well. Before he left, the foreigner thanked to us for our kindness. I was very exciting that day. This experience have made me realize that English is real useful and worth learning. I will work hard at it from now on.

In recent years, study abroad has been popular. Many students are trying his best to go abroad. There are many advantages in attending schools in abroad. First, students who study abroad can make friend with people of different cultures. Second, they can learn many more advanced knowledge of science or technology from foreign countries. Third, they can learn foreign languages more efficiently. But mostly of the students are young to live by themselves without any living experience. This summer I will go to study at the London University,but I don’t know how to adapt myself for the new life.
I hear that many freshmen are at loss what to do when they are in a foreign country .Feel lonely and homesick ,they find it much harder to get use to the new culture ,diet and climate.
Most of them can’t take well care of themselves in their everyday life .
However it is difficult to find a satisfied host. It ’,s  more difficult to fully understand what the teachers teach in class though they speak English all the time.

In my village a lot of children were leaving school for various reason. Some families are too poor to send their children to school, and they have to earn money to support their families. Many parents do not think it useless to send their children to school. They would rather let their children to stay at home .I feel worried this. In order to realize his dream, Bill Gates, richest man in the world, gave up studying in Harvard University, that is the most famous in the world. He set up a company and researching the computer software. As an old saying go, “Interest is the best teacher.” I quite agree with this idea. I began to be crazy about English when I was a little girl. I got extreme interested in foreign cultures or customs. To meet me curiosity, I read in English stories every day. It seemed to be the best “meal” of a day. As a result, I always did very well in English exam. Interest is the key of success.

All of us know the old saying “Practice make perfect.” It tells us unless we want to realize our aim, we should practise, and one day we will make it. It’s easy to understand. Once I wanted to learn swimming. At first I found difficult to control my body. I just sank into the water. I feel very frightened. Then I watched others who were good at them and asked them the key to succeed. I went to the swimming pool every day, learned from them and practised. A day, when my friend pushed me into the swimming poo1, I sudden found that I could swim. How exciting I was! Now I can swim much more better than before.

to raise my head. How a terrible day I had! I will never do anything like this.

One day Rosa wrote to her friend, who was a doctor, invite him to
have dinner with her families. A few days later the doctor wrote back
to her but she couldn’t read his writing because the letters were
written careless. Then she asked her husband for the help, but he
couldn’t read it, too. Then her husband got an idea. He told her that  a
chemist might be able read the doctor’s letter. So the woman went to
the chemist’s. The chemist in the shop studied the letter for a long
time but he gave her large bottle of medicine. He told the woman she
should eat twelve pills a day. Finally Rosa still had no idea whether her
friend will come or not.
