Last Sunday the elephant keeper at London Zoo, Jim Robson,     (kill) by one of the elephants he loved. This was terrible, and it could be a big problem for the future of London Zoo—and maybe for all of Britain’s city zoos.
London Zoo said that it     (move) its three elephants to a wild animal park outside London. Its director-general(总经理), Michael Dixon, said, “We are sorry that the elephants    (leave); there      (be) elephants at London Zoo since 1831.”
One British newspaper said that though many small animals were very interesting, most people wanted to see big animals—and most of all elephants.
London Zoo is not only losing its elephants. The tigers will also leave soon and most of the bears have already gone. Outside the elephant house at London Zoo, a woman     (call) Mary said she wished the zoo    (keep) big animals. “This is the only way the young people can see animals without    (travel) to other countries,” she said.
Zoos are not very good places for animals, but they can help to well keep them. Children can also learn a lot about the animals when they visit zoos.
Another visitor, a man called Alan, was very angry. “If the elephants   (send) back to the wild, they will die. If you take away big animals, people will stop   (visit) London Zoo. It can survive (继续生存)at the moment, but it     (not survive) in the future. "
However, Mary Rosevear, director of the Federation of Zoos, believes that city zoos can survive without keeping large animals.

Happiness is for everyone, and you don’t need to care about those people who have beautiful houses with            and swimming pools or those who have nice cars           a lot of money and so on. Why? Because those who have big houses may often            lonely and those who have cars may want to walk on the country roads in their free time.
In fact, happiness is always around you if you put your heart into it. When you are   in           at school, your friends will help you; when you study at your lessons, your parents are always           good care of your life and your health; when you get          , your friends will say congratulations to you; when you do something wrong, people around you will help you to           it. And when you do something good to others, you will feel happy, too. All these are your happiness. If you notice those things, you can see that happiness is always          you.
Happiness is not the same as money. It is a feeling of your heart. When you are    poor you can also say you are very happy because you have something else that can’t be bought with money. When you meet difficulties, you can say loudly you are very happy because you have more chances to          yourself. So you cannot always say you are poor or you have bad luck. As the saying goes: Life is like a revolving(转动的)door. When it           , it also opens. If you take every chance you get, you can be a happy and lucky person.

The greatest feeling in the world comes not from receiving presents, or even getting an A on the math test you studied so hard for. Rather, it           when you hand a cup of hot coffee to that older man sitting on the side of the street asking for money. You feel it when you drive an hour and a half to a           to meet children with cancer. And you feel it when you sit down with your friend to comfort her           her mother died. Helping others can be the greatest feeling in the world, and I           this just one year ago.
My friend asked me to attend a Youth Group meeting at his church. After an hour of listening to them          their opinions, I was invited to go with them to help           the homeless.
Early that Saturday morning, a team of 15 teenagers began making sandwiches and counting bags of candy. For the first time in my life I realized that we, the teens of America, can make a        . Since it was my first time, and I wasn’t part of the group, I felt a little out of place. But watching the others           the food drove my nervousness away.
Before long, all 150 bagged lunches were gone and the group was           its way home. I realized that not only is my friend an amazing person, but that all of those people are amazing. That’s what made me join the Youth Group.
I work at a coffee shop but don’t make much. It’s not the best job, but there are times when it’s worth it. For example, a few weeks ago, when the store was          and I was bored, looking out of the window, I noticed an old man sitting outside. He had been there before. As a matter of fact, he           came in to buy anything because he didn’t have any money. I took up a cup of coffee, walked outside, and handed it to him. The smile on his face made my day, and as I walked back into the store, I put my own money into the drawer. Then I knew how the members of the Youth Group feel every time they help someone. Knowing that you can help
is         – the greatest feeling in the world.

My crippled(瘸腿的)grandmother was dancing. I stood in the living room doorway, looking at her beautiful movements, completely        . Do you know she'd had her accident. I had read that in an old newspaper article.
‘‘So...Your leg? I mean,         did your leg heal(治愈)?"
“To tell you the truth my legs have been well all my life,” she said.
“But I don't understand!” I said, “Your dancing career...You         all these years?”
‘‘Very much so, and for a very good        .”
She thought for a while and then continued. “Your grandfather and I were talking about engagement(订婚)        he had to go to war. I was so afraid of losing him that the only way I could stay normal was to dance. I put all my heart          practicing and I became very good. The public loved me, but all I could feel worried about not knowing whether the love of my life would          return. One day a letter came, There were only three sentences: “I have lost my leg. I am no longer a        man and now give you back your freedom. It is best you forget about me.”
“I made my decision there and then. I traveled away from the city. When I returned I had bought        a stick. I told everyone I had been in a car crash and that my leg would never completely heal again. No one doubted the story l had learned to limp(一瘸一拐地走). And I made sure the first person to hear of my accident was a         I knew well. Then I went to the hospital. I showed him newspaper articles of my accident. “There is a whole life waiting for us out there! But I am not going to         you. You are going to walk yourself.”
I limped a few steps toward him and showed him what I'd taken out of my pocket. “Now show me you are          a man.” I said.He bent to take his stick from the ground and struggled(挣扎) out of that wheelchair. He managed it on his own and walked to me and never sat in a wheelchair          in his life.”
“What did you show him?” I had to know. Grandma looked at me and smiled. “Two engagement rings, of course. I had bought them the day          he left for the war and I was not going to waste them on any other man.”

People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you will know exactly           to do for each person.
When people are in your life for a reason, it is           to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to           you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then,           any wrong doing on your part or at any inconvenient time, they will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die, sometimes they            away, and sometimesthey act up and force you to take a stand. What you must           is that your need has been met, and your desire fulfilled. When their work is done, it is time to           on.
When people come into your life for a season, it is because your turn has come to share, grow and learn. They bring you a(n)           of peace, or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have           done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.
Lifetime relationships teach you lifetime lessons: those things you must build upon in order to have a           emotional (情感的) foundation. Your job is to accept the lessons, love the person, and put what you have           to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is sacred but friendship is sensible.
In a word, thank you for being part of my life,           you were here for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
