Many people admit that they aren't prepared financially for life's unexpected challenges and emergencies. If your New Year's decision is to become more financially prepared for a“rainy day”the following tips are helpful for you to save,
Start saving now.
Set specific savings goals and break them down to a set dollar amount to save each paycheck.            Save at least a small portion of each paycheck and remain committed to saving, and then look for ways each month to increase the amount.

One of the simplest ways to find money to put toward your rainy day fund is to keep a close eye on where your money is being spent. For two or three months, try keeping track of every expense, including small ones. Once you have a better idea of where your money is going, make a budget that includes a spending and savings plan.
Make saving automatic.
If your goal is to save $5,000 this year, calculate the amount you'll need to save from each paycheck, then arrange to have it automatically saved into your savings account each time you get paid. Visit your bank branch and ask a banker if you can set up automatic transfers into your savings account.
Go on a spending diet.
Avoid spending any money on non-essentials for 30 days and challenge yourself to save as much as you can to put toward your rainy clay fund.             Then make a list and determine not to spend on these items for one month,

A.Track your spending.
B.Put your savings to work.
C.Do remember: Actions always speak louder than words.
D.The important thing is to start saving now, no matter how little.

E. Treat your rainy day account like you'd treat any other financial obligation(债务).
F. Review your budget at the end of every month and determine if your spending is in line with your p1an.
G. Review your budget and identify extra or non-essential expenses, such as eating out, shopping. entertainment, etc.

The right pair of exercise shoes can do a lot to prevent discomfort and injuries, personal trainers say. Here are some shopping tips:
Depending on your workout, shoes designed for walking, running, tennis, cross-training or another specialty will provide the best support for your feet.
Shop when you normally exercise. Feet actually get bigger throughout the day, sometimes swelling up as much as a half-size by nighttime.
Try them on. Never grab a pair of exercise shoes based only on the size of footwear you normally buy. Bring the type of socks you’d wear to work out and go for a walk through the store.
You should be able to spread your toes out comfortably. Make sure there’s about a half-inch of space between them and the front of the shoe. The back should fit snugly (warmly and comfortably) against your heel and not move up and down. If your feet are different sizes, buy based on the larger one.
Talk to an expert. Shoe salesmen and personal trainers can study your stride (步伐) and the shape of your feet.
Many trainers recommend switching footwear every three to five months, if possible, to maintain proper cushioning and support.
One tip: if you have to tie your shoes very tightly to feel a good amount of support, they may be ready to go.

A.Think about how much you can afford to buy the workout shoes.
B.Consider your type of exercise.
C.Focus on fit.
D.So don’t shop first thing in the morning if you often work out in the evening.

E. Pay more attention to new style shoes.
F. Replace worn shoes regularly.
G. Usually they can recommend the best shoes to guard against injuries.

Habits of highly successful students
Never over-study
When you spend much time studying you will quickly lose focus and the time spent in studying will become “junk time”. You think you’re studying but you’re just sitting there re-reading the same sentence about 100 times and you’re not getting anywhere. Instead, take regular breaks.____ __.Besides, it will give your mind some time to take in what you have been doing.
_______
Top students don’t just randomly(随意地) sit down and complete work. They actually plan what they are going to do. They actually plan the time they will study and they set goals for what will be achieved. If you want to be successful, do as successful people do. Set a plan and, set a goal and stick to it, which create a routine and a routine is the first step towards developing a habit.
__________
Front up to the toughest work first
Many of us like to do the easy things first to build our confidence. That’s fair enough. The only challenge with this approach is that you use up your primary energy at the start of any study period and so if you are dealing with the easy parts with your primary energy your batteries will be low when it comes the time to deal with the hard part. So what happens then? _____. We all do it. We really shouldn’t, though. So develop the habit of giving your primary energy to the hard tasks and completing the easy stuff last.
__________
Do we really have to explain this? Just turn them off for an hour; we promise the world will still be there when you log back in. Don’t text your friends; don’t chat while doing memory activities; don’t make phone calls; just focus on what you're doing. Ever if you focus on work for 15 minutes followed by 5 minutes of chatting, it’s better than 30 minutes of work while also chatting. You get that right?

A.Taking breaks can make you get everywhere.
B.You get tired and impatient and just give up
C.Positive habits decide future success
D.Plan your study

E. Taking breaks will make you energetic again and refresh your mind
F. Get off social networking sites and turn off the phone
G. Achieve your goal

Then you are probably quiet, shy, and you would rather follow than lead. You tend to be a pessimist(悲观主义者).At least, this is what psychologists tell us,and they should know, because they have been seriously studying the meaning of color preference,as well as the effect that colors have on human beings. .If you happen to love brown, you did so,as soon as you opened your eyes,or at least as soon as you could see clearly.

Earth Day at 40: What Good Is It Now?
After 40 years, outsourced activism is replacing traditional Earth Day activities, and green’s gone mainstream, experts say. So what’s the point?

以下是这些报道的简要内容介绍,请配对它们的标题。
Where did this most popular day for couples come from? And how does it come into beings, year after year? Noel Lenski, professor of the University of Colorado, said the lovers’ holiday traces its roots to raucous annual Roman festivals held every year on February 15 and remained wildly popular well into the fifth century A.D.
The first Earth Day in 1970 was a raucous, radical teach-in that helped spur clean-air, clean-water, and endangered species legislation in the United States. Now, 40 years later, Earth Day is every day, as the saying goes. The thing is, it’s also everyday- environmentalism that has become a routine with greenness as much a marketing tactic as a moral pursuit.
Some 242 million turkeys were raised in the U.S. in 2010 for slaughter, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. Last year’s birds were worth about U.S. $3.6 billion. Before the big dinner, debunk the myths, we need to know that the first “real” U.S. Thanksgiving wasn’t until the 1800s and get to the roots of Thanksgiving 2010.
Father’s Day traditionally takes a backseat to Mother’s Day, and, for the most part, dads are cool with that, experts say. Nevertheless, as traditional roles around the house gradually change, fathers are gaining more attention on their special day, at least as measured in the monetary value of gifts estimated to be given on June 19, 2011, when the holiday will be celebrated in dozens of countries.
Cookouts, fireworks, and, of course, a chance to wish Uncle Sam a big “happy birthday” —the day means summer in full swing across the United States and beyond. Besides the founders of the US, Fireworks, first authorized by Congress in 1777, are another legacy. More than 14,000 fireworks displays light up U.S. skies each year.

As you turn the last page, you can expect a sleepy smile and at least a yawn or two.
