How many of us can really ever thank our mothers for what they do for us? I am now 40 years old, so it's been a lot of years that I've had my mom's loving      and direction behind me pushing me gently when I need it.
When I was ill, mom would take care of me     . When I had a terrible dream, she would never     me  for stealing into her bed. When I graduated from college, she took       in me as I walked across that stage. She never told me that anything was impossible or that I set my goals too high. With a gentle guiding hand she got me back on the right:,    if I faltered (摇晃) .
A     thank you will never be enough for the kindness and love she has shown to us over the years. My mom      _ more than flowers, candy or other gifts. There isn't a gift in the world that could ever         my thanks for everything she has done for me over the years.

I got lots of interesting experiences in a free school. At first I couldn’t believe it. There were no    41   in rows or loud-sounding bells, nor did anyone have to go to   42  . Although we lived “in”,    43  made us go to bed at a certain time; there was no “ lights out”.
The    44 thing was that practically all the students went to class, and very few people stayed up late at night. Only the new people stayed up or    45 class. The new ones always went wild    46  , but his wildness never lasted long. The freedom took some getting used to. They did this instead of having lessons in the classroom. They really had a    54 time, too, designing everything, drawing the blueprints(蓝图;设计图), figuring out the angles and so on. I didn’t take    55__ . But I could do the basic things with numbers. That’s   56  .
57_    I think I am a     58   person for having gone to the school. I can read and write as well as anyone else of my age, and I think better. That’s probably a real big      ___59    between the free school and the regular school--- the amount of    60  .

The next thing I know, I heard Tammy __40__ at the top of her lungs, __41__ flat on the ground. She had fallen out of the tree.
I came down the tree to __42__. My dad later told me why Tammy fell and I didn’t. __43__, when Tammy’s mother felt the wind, she yelled out, “Tammy, don’t __44__!” And Tammy did do that.
My dad then __45__ to me that the mind has a very __46__ time dealing with a negative image. When she knew details, we learned that the     39    situations had one thing in common. It     40    that whenever a class member had a bad sales experience, it involved the     41    promising something he wouldn’t or couldn’t deliver.
The example I     42   with the class was a current one. There are two types of people in the world. Although they have equal degrees of health and wealth and the other comforts of life, one becomes happy,         becomes unhappy. This         from the different ways in which they consider things, persons, and events, and the resulting effects upon their minds.
The people who are to be happy         their attention to the conveniences of things, the pleasant parts of conversation, the well-prepared dishes, the goodness of the wines, and the fine weather. They enjoy all the cheerful things. Those who are to be unhappy think and speak only of the         things. They are,        , continually unsatisfied. By their words, they complain about the pleasure of society, offend many people, and         themselves disagreeable (不受欢迎的) everywhere. If this turn of mind were founded in nature, such unhappy persons would be more to be pitied. The intention of criticizing and being disliked is perhaps taken up         by imitation (模仿). It grows into a habit, unknown         its possessors. The habit may be strong, but it may be cured when those who have it are         its bad effects on their interests and tastes. I hope this little warning may be of service to them, and         them change this habit.
Although in fact it is chiefly an act of imagination, it has serious         in life, since it causes deep sorrow and bad luck. Those people offend many others, nobody loves them, and no one treats them with more than the most         politeness and respect. This         puts them in bad temper and draws them into arguments. If they aim at obtaining         advantages in social position or fortune, nobody wishes them success. Nor will anyone start a step         speak a word to favor their hopes. If they cause themselves public objections (反对), no one will         or excuse them, and many         join to criticize their wrongdoings. These people should change this bad habit and be pleased with what is pleasing,         worrying needlessly about themselves and others. If they do not,         will be good for others to avoid any contact with them. Otherwise, it can be disagreeable and sometimes very inconvenient,         when one becomes mixed up in their quarrels.
