Just up the road from my home is a field, with two horses in it. From a distance, each horse looks like any horse. But if you get closer, you will 36 something quite interesting ——one of the horses is 37 .
His owner has chosen not to have him put down(杀死), 38 has made him a safe and comfortable barn(马棚) to 39 .This is pretty amazing. But if you stand nearby and listen, you will hear the sound of a 40 .It is coming from a smaller horse in the field. 41 to the horse is a small bell. It 42 the blind friend know where the other horse is,so he can 43 .
As you stand and watch these two friends you'll see that the horse with the bell is always 44 the blind horse, and that the blind horse will 45 for the bell and then slowly walk to where the other horse is,trusting he will not be led the 46 way.
When the horse with the bell returns to the shelter of the 47 each evening, he will stop 48 to look back, making sure that the blind friend isn't too 49 behind to hear the bell.
Like the owner of these two horses, the kind people around us do not 50 us away just because we are not perfect or because we have 51 .Sometimes we are the blind horse, being 52 by the little ringing bell of those who come to 53 us. And we are the guide horse 54 other times, helping others to find their 55 .

A man worked in a post office. His job was to handle all 36 that had unclear addresses. One day he came across a letter which was 37 to God. He opened it and it 38 , "Dear God, I am an 83-year-old woman and I live on a very small pension (养老金). Yesterday someone stole my 39 . There was a hundred dollars in it, which was all the money I had 40 until my next pension comes. Next Thursday is Thanksgiving Day, and I have invited my last two friends for 41 . Without that money, I have 42 to buy food with. I have no family to 43 , and you are my only 44 . Can you please help me?" The man was 45 , and went around showing the letter to all the other workers. Each of them 46 their wallets and donated a few dollars. Because of your kindness, I was able to 52 a lovely dinner for my friends. We had a very 53 day, and I told my friends about your 54 gift. Thank you very much!" Seeing this, all the workers felt 55 with the nice thing they had done. They looked into each other’s eyes and smiled.

Around twenty years ago I was living in York. 31 I had a lot of experience and a Master’s degree, I could not find 32 work.
I was 33 a school bus to make ends meet and 34 with a friend of mine, for I had lost my flat. I had 35 five interviews(面试)with a company and one day between bus runs they called to say I did not 36 the job. “Why has my life become so 37 ?” I thought painfully.
As I pulled the bus over to 38 a little girl, she handed me an earring 39 I should keep it 40 somebody claimed(认领)it. The earring was painted black and said “BE HAPPY”.
At first I got angry. Then it 41 me-I had been giving all of my 42 to what was going wrong with my 43 rather than what was right! I decided then and there to make a 44 of fifty things I was happy with. Later, I decided to 45 more things to the list. That night there was a phone call for 46 from a lady who was a director at a large 47 . She asked me if I would 48 a one-day lecture on stress(压力) management to 200 medical workers. I said yes.
My 49 there went very well, and before long I got a well-paid job. To this day I know that it was because I changed my way of 50 that I completely changed my life.

Dear son,
The day that you see me old and I am already not in good health, have patience and try to understand me.
If I get dirty when eating, if I can not dress, have patience and remember the hours I 26 teaching it to you. If, when I speak to you, I 27 the same things thousand and one times, do not 28 me, listen to me. When you were small, I had to read to you thousand and one times the same story 29 you got to sleep. When I do not want to have a 30 , neither shame me nor scold me. Remember when I had to chase you with thousand excuses I 31 , in order that you wanted to bathe. When you see my 32 little about new technologies, give me the necessary time and do not look at me with your mocking(嘲弄) smile. I taught you 33 to do so many things: to eat good, to dress well, to confront life…. When at some moment I lose the memory or the 34 of our conversation, let me have the necessary time to remember, and if I cannot do it, do not become nervous, as the most important thing is not our conversation but surely to be with you and to have you 35 to me.
If ever I do not want to eat, do not force me. I know well 36 I need to and when not. When my 37 legs do not allow me to walk, give me your 38 , the same way I did when you gave your first 39 . And when someday I say to you that I do not want to 40 any more ---- that I want to rest forever, do not get ___41__. Someday you will understand.
Try to understand that my age is not lived but survived. Some day you will discover that, despite my mistakes, I always wanted the 42 thing for you and that I tried to prepare the way for you. You must not feel sad, angry or impotent(无可奈何) for seeing me 43 you. You must be next to me, try to understand me and to help me as I did it when you 44 living. Help me to walk, help me to end my way with love and 45 . I will pay you by a smile and by the immense love I have had always for you.
I love you, Son

As a child, I was truly afraid of the dark and of getting lost; these fears were very real and caused me some uncomfortable moments.
Maybe it was the strange 36 things looked and sounded in my familiar room at night that 37 me so much. There was never total 38 , but a streetlight or passing car lights 39 clothes hung over a chair take on the 40 of a wild animal. Out of the corner of my 41 , I saw the curtains seem to move when there was no 42 . A tiny sound in the floor would seem a hundred times louder than in the daylight. My 43 would run wild, and my heart would beat fast. I would 44 very still so that the "enemy" would not discover me.
Another of my childhood fears was that I would get lost, 45 on the way home from school. Every morning I get on the school bus right near my home--that was no 46 . After school, 47 , when all the buses were 48 up along the street, I was afraid that I'd get on the wrong one, and be taken to some 49 neighborhood. On school or family trips to a park or museum, I wouldn't 50 the leaders out of my sight.
Perhaps one of the worst fears 51 all I had as a child was that of not being liked or 52 by others. Being popular was so important to me 53 , and the fear of not being liked was a 54 one.
One of the processes of growing up is being able to 55 and overcome our fears. Understanding the things that frightened us as children helps us achieve greater success later in life.

Recent studies show that only one out of three people have strong and healthy self-confidence. That 36 two out of every three people simply don’t know the 37 they already have to be successful when it’s 38 there in their hands! 39 if you want others to believe in you, you have to believe in yourself first. Remember: “No one can make you feel inferior (差的) unless you 40 them.” A successful businessman says, “You can’t push anyone up a ladder 41 he knows he can climb himself.”
Many of us have an image 42 , the image(形象)we have of ourselves. 43 one guy put it: “You can’t win a horse race if you think you look 44 on a horse.” To succeed, the first person you have to 45 is yourself! So stop believing your own lies about yourself. Just 46 your mind and you’ll change your life.
One of the most harmful weapons that can kill your success in life is the two little words:“47 ”. You know that people used to 48 that if human beings traveled faster than 30 miles an hour it would 49 our circulation(循环)of blood and kill us? Thank goodness a few people didn’t believe that 50 thinking, or we wouldn’t be riding in cars, buses, and flying in airplanes today. You’ll never know until you 51 .
Roger Bannister was the first human being to run a mile in less than 4 minutes. But 52 he did it, most people in the world didn’t think it was even 53 Yet only weeks after Bannister did it, suddenly 54 all over the world began running a mile in less than 4 minutes! If we believe something can be done, we’ll 55 do it.

Years ago, if a teenager had some problems in his life, he might go home and write in his diary; now, a teenager with the 36 problems might go onto the Internet and write about them in a blog(博客). In many ways, a diary and a blog are very 37 , but what makes blogging different from writing in a(n) 38 diary?
The biggest difference is that a blog is much more 39 than a diary. Usually, a teenager treats his diary like a book full of 40 that he does not want to 41 with others.
It’s interesting that someone who writes in a blog 42 a diary will probably write nearly the same information.
I have a little sister, and sometimes I go online to read her 43 . She writes about things like waking up early for swimming practice and not studying enough for her chemistry test.
44 I was her age, I wrote about the same thing, but 45 in my diary. Then, after I had finished writing, I would hide my diary in a secret place because I was 46 that my sister might read it.
The biggest 47 with blogging is that anyone can read what you write. If I was angry with a friend during high school and wrote something 48 about him in my diary, he would never know. 49 , if my sister ever wrote something bad about a friend, that friend might
50 her blog and get angry.
There are also 51 to blogging, of course. If I was feeling sad one day and wrote in my diary “ Nobody cares about me …”, no one would 52 about it. However, if my sister wrote the same sentence in her blog, her best friend would quickly 53 and tell her how much they 54 her. Blog helps people 55 in contact with their friends and know what the people around them are doing.

When I was a boy, every holiday that I had seemed wonderful. My 16 took me by train or by car to a hotel by the 17 . All day, I seem to remember, I 18 on the sands with strange 19 children. In those days the 22 seemed to shine always brightly 23 the water was always warm. Sometimes we left beach and walked in the country, 24 ruined houses and dark woods and climbing trees. There were 25 in one’s pockets or good places where one could 26 ice creams. Each day seemed a lifetime.

I no longer wish to 30 any sand house or sand garden, and I dislike sweets. 31 , I love the sea and often feel sand running through my fingers.

A man found the cocoon (茧) of a moth (蛾). He took it home so that he could 1 the moth come out of the cocoon. On that day a small 2 appeared. He sat and watched the moth for several hours as the moth struggled to 3 the body through that little hole. Soon it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had 4 as far as it could and it could go no further. It just seemed to be stuck. So the man, out of his kindness, decided to help the moth. He took a pair of scissors and 5 the remaining bit of the cocoon. The 6 then came out easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriven (无用的) wings. The man continued to watch the moth because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and 7 to be able to support the 8 , which would get smaller in time. Neither happened! In fact, the little moth spent the rest of its life 9 around with a swollen body and shriven wings. It was 10 able to fly.
What the man in his kindness didn’t 11 was that the small cocoon and the 12 of the moth to get through the 13 opening was a way to push fluid (液体) 14 the body of moth 15 its wings so that it would be ready to fly 16 it got out of the cocoon. Freedom and 17 would come only after the struggle. By taking the struggle away, he also took away the moth’s health.
Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. If we were to 18 our lives without any difficulties, we would become disabled. We would not be as 19 as what we could have been. Give every opportunity a chance. Leave no room for 20 .

Long time ago, there was a farmer who lived with his daughter. A young man fell in love with the farmer’s beautiful daughter and wished to 36 her. One day, he went to the farmer to 37 his permission. A few 47 later, the barn door opened again. Unbelievable! The young man had never seen any bull so 48 and fierce as this one in his life. The door opened a third time. A 51 came across the young man’s face. This was the weakest bull that he had ever seen. “ This one was my bull,” he 52 to himself. As the bull came running by, he positioned himself just right and 53 at just the exact moment. He threw his hands to catch ...... But to his 54 , the bull had no tail.
