One rainy day while I was walking home with one of my friend, a truck came to a stop besides me.The driver put the window down and offered us a umbrella because he found we were wet through. I stood there and couldn’t believe in that a complete stranger is so thoughtful. The man insisted, so I grateful l accepted the offer, thanked him and watched the truck disappear down the road. This man might need the umbrella himself, and he preferred to give it to everyone else. It was a lesson to us and it was possible give without expect anything in return.

Dear editor,
Some years ago, my hometown was used to be a beautiful place. Thick trees and grass can be seen all over the hills. As time going by, people destroyed almost the whole forest grow more crops. To make matters worse, people let their cattles eat up the grass. So you can only see wasteland instead green forests now. As a result of, when it rains, the soil is washed down the hills and into the rivers. Strongly winds also blow away the valuable soil lie on the top of the fields.
I do hope all the people will take good care of the forests but plant more trees to improve our living conditions.

Today is Sunday. I didn’t get up early as usual. On the morning after I finished my
homework, I did some washing. Then I telephoned one of my classmate and invited him to
see a film. And unfortunately, when we got to the cinema at 3:00 pm, we found all the
tickets had sold out. Then we went back to school and played the football. After that, we
were about to go home while we saw our English teacher, Mr. Wang, coming into the
school gate. He told us we had made great progresses in English this term. He also
suggested that we read more and write more. We promised her that we would follow his
advice.

I am a high school student. A few days before, one of my very good friend told me that he was going to stop school. He said that he wanted to start his own’s business. As is know, when senior students graduate from school, most            of their textbooks are thrown away, which are still in a good                condition. What a waste it is! I quite agree to the suggestion we              should recycle these textbooks. For one thing, recycle textbooks             can save a lot of natural materials, which is used to make                  textbooks. For other, senior students may have plenty of useful              notes over the pages. They are very helpful to those textbook users.           What’s worse, the cost of the books will unload some burden of the          families of the students. Actually in Australia and any other countries,         recycling textbooks is popular but it gives us a good example.               Why can’t we have a try?
