As the high school student, I like to talk with foreigners to practise my oral English but
learn more about other cultures. There were two foreign teachers in our school in this term.
They often go to the English corner so that we can have a chance to practise the language.I
seize every chance talk with them. However, I sometime find they are not so interesting in
what I say, and it’s hard for I to choose a suitable topic. I would like some advices about how
to communicate proper with foreigners, and what topics to pick.

When tea and coffee was first introduced to Europe in the 18th century, people thought they were harm. So the king of Sweden decided to find whether it was true or not. It was happened that there were two brothers whom were in prison then. The king ordered one of them to drink tea every day and the others coffee. All of them have lived many years. One cold winter day in 1900, a small boy calling Charlie Chaplin walking along the street in London.  He did not have breakfast and lunch. I was playing at my cousin house. Since his family was rich than mine, he had more toys than I did. There was one on particular I’d always wanted. I put into my pocket when he wasn’t looking. I guessed, even at that age, I would never be able to enjoy to playing with the toy or faced my cousin again; I would always know I’d done something wrong. Late on, my aunt drove me home. I’m Wang Lin. I’m a senior 3 student who take the College Entrance Exam soon. Now I have a problem in choosing my major. My parents want me to study international business. Therefore, my head teacher suggests that I chose software engineering. As for me, I have a total different idea from them. I want to take environmental science for my major so that I can use that I have learned to help improving the environment in my hometown after the graduation. When I first learned to write in English, I run into many difficulties．The mainly problem was that I always thought in Chinese but tried to translate everything into Chinese．My teacher advised me to keep the diaries．I followed her advices．Happily it worked．Soon I began to enjoy talk to myself on paper as I was learning to express me in simple English. The day before yesterday, I went to the bookstore which is near our school to buy the reference book. It was Saturday, so there was many people. There are a lot of unforgettable thing in our life．The most unforgettable one for me is the speech competition holding last year．When my English teacher told me that I had chosen to take part in the speech competition ,I devoted me to the preparation．I was determined to win the first prize．I was such nervous when I stood on the stage that I forgot everything．Not until I caught a sight of my teacher did I calm down．Finally，I do a good job．When I heard I got the first prize，my heart was filled in joy and tears rolled down．Through this speech competition，I understand that it is confidence which makes people successfully．

Dear editor,
I’m a college student and I’ll graduating in half a year. I’m very worried about my future, because find a good job is so much difficult. At the moment, my parents want me to be a teacher, and I don’t like that idea. During my holiday break, I work part-time as a tour guide in my hometown. I liked job very much. But my parents didn’t agree with me. They thought the work was difficulty, even though one could make a lot of money.
