Each of us has dreams and goals for our future. What makes us study and make progress each day is closely connected with our personal dream and goal.

But why do you have dreams and goals, you still end up with nothing? What separates successful people from the dreamers is their persistent (锲而不舍的) action. When you learn your lessons in school, you must work hard and not give up.You will often find some of your lessons very hard.Try and keep trying, and you'll be sure to successfully deal with any difficulty you meet with.If we have a hard lesson today, let us try our best to learn it well and then we shall be prepared for a harder one tomorrow.

This is the famous formula(公式) for success:

    Dream > Believe > Achieve

Most people have what they want (Dream) and think they can realize their dreams (Believe). And then they do nothing. They just imagine their dreams can come true. When they get tired waiting and lose a lot, they get bored. They say angrily how terrible their life is.

I personally believe that if you really want to achieve your dreams and goals in life, you have to add one thing to your success formula:

    Dream > Believe > Act > Achieve

For me,act is the most important thing for success and that's to Take Persistent Action (Act). If you say, "I can't do it" and give up,you can never do anything valuable. However, "I'll try" creates wonders.Let's remember that there will be obstacles in our life.We must face them bravely and solve them.Success is not something that falls down from the sky. Most successful people made their dreams come true because of their persistent action.

Please remember:Action is the bridge that connects our dreams and goals to reality.

(1)What should you do when you find your lessons very hard?

A.Ask people for help.

Mr. and Mrs. March lived together with their four daughters. Amy was very shy. Beth loved being at home. Meg looked very pretty. Jo was tall and thin and she was a tomboy.. Their home was always busy and full of noise and people. Next to them lived old Mr. Laurence and his grandson, Laurie. They lived in a very large and comfortable house. But it was a house without life.

One day, Joe saw Laurie standing at an upstairs window in his house and looking down at their garden. Jo's sisters were playing in the snow there. They were throwing snowballs and having a lot of fun. But Laurie's face was very sad.

"Poor boy!" Jo thought. "He's all alone. He needs some friends." She couldn't stop thinking about him. She wanted to go and see him, but how could she go to the house without an invitation?

Then one snowy afternoon, she saw Laurie's grandpa go out. This gave her an idea. She took a broom from the kitchen.

"What are you going to do, Jo?" asked her sister Meg.

"To clear the garden path." Answered Jo.

When Laurie saw Jo from the window, a big smile changed his pale, sad face.

Jo laughed and shouted, "How are you? Are you ill?"

Laurie opened the window and said," I'm better now, thank you. I had a bad cold and had to stay inside for a week".

"I'm sorry," said Jo. "Are you bored?"

    "Yes, very." he replied.

"Don't your friends come to visit you?"

"No. But I don't want to see anybody. Boys are noisy and they give me a headache."

    "Girls are quiet."

    "I don't know any girls."

    "You know us."

"That's true! Can you come and visit me?" cried Laurie.

" I'm not quiet, but I'd like to come," replied Jo. "I must ask Mother first." She ran back into her house.

A few minutes later, she returned and rang the bell on the door of laurie's house. A servane took her upstairs.

"Here I am!" she said brightly. "Mother sends her love and my sisters gave me this blancmange (牛奶冻) for you."

"That looks delicious," Laurie said. He was very happy to see Jo.

Jo looked around. There were lots of books on the shelves.

"A nice room!" she said. "I can read to you if you like."

    "No, let's talk," replied Laurie.

"All right," said Jo, "I can talk for hours. My sisters say I never know when to stop."

"You have three sisters﹣Amy, Beth and Meg." Laurie continued.

"How do you know this?" Jo was surprised.

"You call each other's names when you are in the garden. Sometimes I can see you all around the table with your mother. She has a very kind face. I like looking at her. I haven't got a mother."

Jo felt sad when she heard this.

"Why don't you come and visit us?" she said, "It isn't good for you to stay in this house all the time."

"Thank you. I'd like to come very much." Said Laurie.

"We know all our neighbours except you." Jo said, " I'm glad we're friends now."

She told him about all the interesting things in her life. She said," Besides(除了……之外) plays, I also love books." Laurie loved books too, and offered to show her the library in the house. The library was a wonderful room. Jo loved it.

"Wow!" she said, "All those books!"

①He was 11 years old and went fishing every chance he got at his family's small house on an island in the middle of a New Hampshire lake.

②On the day before the bass(鲈鱼)season opened, he and his father were fishing early in the evening, catching sunfish and the bass with worms. Before long, when his fishing pole doubled over, he knew something huge was on the other end. His father watched him with admiration as the boy skillfully worked the fish alongside the bank and he very successfully lifted the exhausted fish from the water. It was the largest one he had ever seen, but it was a bass.

③The boy and his father looked at the handsome fish, the fish jumped up and down in the moonlight. The father looked at his watch. It was 10 P. M.﹣two hours before the season opened. He looked at the fish, then at the boy. "You will have to put it back, my son." he said." I have never seen such a big fish before." cried the boy" There will be other fish." said his father. The boy looked around the lake. No other fishermen or boats were anywhere around in the moonlight. He looked again at his father. Even though no one had seen them, nor could anyone ever know what time he caught the fish, the boy could tell by his father's voice that the decision couldn't be changed. He slowly worked the hook out of the lip of the huge bass and lowered it into the water.

Complain(抱怨) Politely

Not everything goes the way you want it to. You may go to a restaurant and order a nice meal. But your order is wrong or not cooked properly. You may buy a product that breaks the next day. (1) However, if you speak angrily to people, they will become defensive(自卫的). Then they are less likely to help you. A more effective (有效的) way to get what you want is to stay calm.

Use polite language and a friendly tone of voice. Start with phrases such as, "I'm sorry to bother you, but…"or "Excuse me, but could you…?" For example, "I'm sorry to bother you, but I ordered potato soup, not vegetable." Phrasing your complaint as a question also helps. (2) "Could you help me? I just bought this phone case yesterday, but it's cracked."

    (3) There is no faster way to make someone defensive than by blaming them. Use the phrase, "I know this isn't your fault, but…" or "There has been a misunderstanding." (4)_____ Blaming people isn't as important as getting a problem fixed!

There are honest mistakes, but at times someone may try to take advantage of you. In that case, don't say "Hey! You're trying to cheat me!" Instead, use the phrase, "I understood that…" For example, "I understood that the service charge was included in the price." Then give the person a chance to answer.

If you don't get what you want with polite conversation, ask to speak to a manager or supervisor. (5)

A. When trying to correct a problem, don't blame(责备) the person you're talking to.

B. People like to be asked rather than told!

C. But usually, you'll find that polite words and a smile will resolve a situation.

D. These kinds of experiences make you want to complain.

E. These phrases let people know you are only angry at the situation.
