Happy Rain on a Spring Night Good rain knows its time right; O'er wild lanes dark cloud spreads; It will fall when comes spring. In boat a lantern looms. With wind it steals in night; Dawn sees saturated reds; Mute, it moistens each thing. The town's heavy with blooms. ﹣﹣﹣Translated by Xu Yuanchong Du Fu |
This famous poem, with four couplets, was written by Du Fu(712﹣770, Tang Dynasty)when he was living and farming in Chengdu. His farming experience taught him to be thankful to nature.
The very first word, "good", shows the poet's joy and love for the spring rain. The rain is good because it "knows" the proper time to come. Here the poet uses personification, as if the rain were smart enough to come in time for the farmer's busy season.
When the rain comes, it appears during the night without making any noise. Unlike the summer storms, the spring rain finishes its task without being known.
In the third couplet, the poet describes a peaceful scene to us. In the night sky, the clouds look dark and heavy. It's a sign that there will be enough rain during the night. The light from the riverboat makes the dark scene a bit livelier.
Lastly, the poet starts to imagine. Tomorrow morning, he thinks, the city of Chengdu will become beautiful when all of the flowers bloom(盛开)after the rain.

I'll be perfectly honest: I'm not a fan of The Teen Cops. To me, it's very much like watching a silly comedy show on television. But, let me first say that not everything in the movie is bad.
The main characters are funny and lovable. Linda is cute, Sam is funny and Mr. Timmy, the dog, is a perfect partner to the two teenage crime fighters. The producers have also come up with exciting new music.
While the characters in the movie are fine, the plotis too simple. "They look for the bad guys, they find the bad guys, and then they catch the bad guys." Boring! No difference from so many television programmes that we have seen before.
Here's another reason why I don't like the plot. Two teenagers and a little dog act like they are smarter than experienced policemen and criminals. This may be a comedy, but it isn't funny.
It seems that Director James Ma has made this comedy for people of all ages to enjoy. But, in my opinion, he has failed and it is not worth seeing.

Many of you have heard a Cinderella(灰姑娘) story, but you may not know that there are over a hundred different ways to tell the Cinderella story. When writers tell the same story in a different way,it is called their"version"of the story. The story of Cinderella has many different versions.Let's read two of them and find out how they are different.
The version that most people know is the oldest one written in 1697 by Charles Perrault from France. This is the version where the birds help make Cinderella's dress and the mice turn into carriage men(马车夫) and help Cinderella go to the dance in a pumpkin(南瓜) carriage. In this version, many of the animals are Cinderella's friends. They help her meet the Prince.Cinderella marries the Prince and they live happily together ever after.
In another version of this story written in the 1850s by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm from Germany, the birds help Cinderella in the whole story.Cinderella's father gives her a little tree when he comes back from a party. She plants the little tree and her tears water it until it grows into a tall tree.
