Since my childhood, libraries had played an important role in my life. When I was a pupil, I regarded on my every trip to the school library as an adventure. I enjoyed my stay at the library when I could read various book I was interested in. It was for this reason why I decided to volunteer at a library. At first I had difficulty remember where each book should be shelved, and I got used to doing so soon with the help of a kind librarian. Working in the library might seem bored for most people. However, it was rewarding experience for me. It not only developed my ability to read, but also help me make a contribution to society.

Time flies! This is a third year that I have been in this school. In the past two and a half years, our school had organized many activities. What impressed me best was an activity called “Learning to Farm”. In an autumn afternoon, we were sent to a farm which we learned to plant potatoes. Having been in the city for so a long time, we were so happy to go to the countryside. After divided into 3 groups, we started to work. Some students cut potatoes into pieces; some dug holes, and the others put the pieces into the hole, put the earth back and pushed them down hard. We continued doing that until all the work was done. There are many similarity between doctors and teachers. First, both doctors and teachers are considering professionals by their communities. The classification of professionals is the high socioeconomic rank where an individual can achieve in this society. Second, both doctors and teachers help others: doctors heal to the bodies of sick people and return them to healthy. And teachers shape the minds of young people and turn them into responsible, educating adults. Last, both doctors and teachers are essential members of a community. It is difficult to imagine a city or town that has not need of neither a doctor or a teacher. Such place would truly be primitive.

Recently, as the development of the Internet, there is a kind of language calling Web language. Some people even speak Chinese mixed with English letters. The other day our class had a discussion about if we should welcome the Web language.
Forty percent of the students think it ridiculous. They argue that it does no good helping people communicate, nor is it useful for learning English. Everyone has a dream. We are on the way to achieve it whether the way is smooth or toughly. As Senior 3 student, I have the same dream as my classmates that I can be admitted to an ideal university. On a snowy winter night, a bus with 45 passenger had an accident because the wet road. And all of them were trapping in the bus and what is worse, the bus ran out of gas and it was very cold in it. I can’t swim so I have a strong fear of water. Look back at my childhood, I think that three reasons might explain fear. Firstly, I am not allowed to go near the water when I was a child, as my mother had an unreasonable fear of it. Therefore, I was taught to see to the water as something danger. Secondly, my eyes became bad when I was five. If I took off my glass in the water, I couldn’t see something, and this increased my fear. What’s worse, for a child I once saw a neighbor drowned.
