Should Museum Entry Be Free With International Museum Day coming up, today we are asking readers: Should museums be free or should people have to pay for a ticket? Let us know your view. Comments Museums are not only there for enjoyment; they are education. This is why they must be free. While museums need a huge amount of money to operate, let the wealthy pay for it. The idea of a person or child interested in art not being able to view it because of cost is wrong Krista Chen(US)﹣Age 15 Free entry does not attract people or encourage them to appreciate art. Generally people respect things that are difficult or costly to get Museums should require regular visitors to pay a fee, but provide free tickets as prizes for high﹣achieving students who can appreciate them more Fred Smith(New Zealand)﹣Age 14 Museums teach people about their past. This is part of our shared culture that should be available to everyone, rich or poor People should never be asked to pay an entrance fee. Rob Sanchez (Australia)﹣Age 17 There are no simple answers. Low ticket prices could help museums stay open. But companies and businessmen should also provide museums with more money and other support. They have a social responsibility too. Amber White (UK)﹣Age 16 I think museums and art galleries should all be free to the public. Many people know that rubbish is a big problem on planet Earth. What many people don't know is that junk(垃圾)has become a problem in outer space too.
According to BBC News, there are more than 22, 000 pieces of space junk floating around the earth. And these are just the things that we can see from the surface of the earth by telescopes (望远镜). There are also millions of smaller pieces of junk that we can't see.
Objects, like bits of old space rockets or satellites, move around the planet at very high speeds,so fast that even a very small piece can break important satellites or become dangerous to astronauts. If the tiniest piece of junk crashed into a spaceship, it could damage the vehicle.
To make things worse, when two objects in space crash, they break into many smaller pieces. For example, when a U.S. satellite hit an old Russian rocket in 2009, it broke into more than 2,000 pieces, increasing the amount of space junk.
To reduce additional space junk, countries have agreed that all new space tools can only stay in space for 25 years at most. Each tool must be built to fall safely into the earth's atmosphere after that time. In the upper parts of the atmosphere, it will burn up.
Many scientists also suggesting different ways to clean up space junk. In England scientists are testing a metal net that can be fired into space junk. The net catches the junk and then pulls it into the earth's atmosphere to burn up. The Germans are building robots that can collect pieces of space junk and bring them back to Earth to be safely destroyed.
The problem is becoming more challenging because we're sending more objects into space to help people use their mobile phones and computers," says Marco Castronuovo, an Italian space Researcher.
"The time to act is now. The longer we leave the problem, the bigger it will become," he says.

Heads Up!
In November, the US Soccer Federation, the biggest soccer organization in the US introduces new rules to make the sport safer for young players. This organization
announced that players on its teams who are 10 or younger are no longer allowed to head the ball.Players aged from 11 to 13 have limits on how often they can practice heading. The new rules are designed to prevent kids from getting concussions﹣injuries caused by a blow to the head that shakes the brain inside the skull(头骨).Common symptoms(症状) include headaches and dizziness.
A DANGEROUS MOVE
Heading the ball can be one of the riskiest parts of soccer.Sometimes the force of hitting the ball with their heads gives players concussions. But more often, players receive concussions when they jump to head the ball and accidentally knock heads with other players or fall and hit their heads on the grass.
"More concussions happen during the act of heading than any other action in soccer,"explains Dr.Robert Cantu,an expert on brain injuries.

From tiny seeds(种子), great discoveries grow. A mini﹣garden carried on China's Chang'e 4 moon lander recently became home to the first plant to grow on another world.
This is yet another success for Chang'e 4. On January 2, the probe(探测器)became the first lander to touch down on the far side of the moon. This is the unknown face of the moon that is always looking away from us, so we never see it from down here on the earth. Although it is often regarded as the dark side of the moon, the far side actually gets as much sunshine as the near side. For example, when all we can see is a silver of a new moon, the far side of the moon is in full sunlight.
Part of Chang'e 4's mission(使命)is to see how a moon base could be built for humans, including exploring(探索)whether humans could grow food and other plant products there. Chang'e 4 carried a mini﹣garden with air, water and soil with seeds planted in it. When plants shoot on the earth, their stems grow away from the gravity(the force that keeps your feet on the ground),and so they always shoot upwards. The moon's gravity is a sixth as strong as the earth's, so Chang'e 4's experiment was a test:would the earth plants know which way was up on the moon? Four days after landing, a tiny cotton shoot showed that they do.
Night has now fallen on the far side of the moon; sunlight will not return until the start of February. As a result, the cotton shoots died. Besides the darkness, the plants can't stand the cold(it can drop to ﹣170C on the moon at night). However, the experiment is a success, since it has proved that it is possible for plants to grow in space.

We have found plastic in the ocean and in animals like birds, fish and whales. But for the first time, scientists have found plastic in human poop(大便), USA Today reported. The findings came from a study led by scientists from Environment Agency Austria. (1) The volunteers wrote down what they ate for a week and then provided a stool sample(大便样本) for testing.
(2) About 20 small plastic particles (颗粒) were found in every 10 grams (克)of stool. " The smallest plastic particles can enter the blood, the lymphatic system, and may even reach the liver (肝脏), "said Philipp Schwabl, who took part in the research. (3) __ They're not sure how the plastic got in the volunteers' bodies, either. But most of the volunteers said they drank from plastic bottles and also ate seafood that could include plastic from ocean pollution.
In fact, plastic is everywhere around us. Every year, lots of plastic waste goes into the ocean. (4) Most of the particles stay in the ocean. Others can spread into the soil and air.Could plastic in the air fall onto food and get into the human body?

An 11﹣year﹣old blind girl is proud of walking alone every day to and from school. Why? She has to walk past so many barriers (障碍物) in her way.The girl's home is near the school, yet her mother follows her without letting her know.
The case of the girl shows the barrier﹣free facilities (设施) are not enough in her city. Many other cities are short of barrier﹣free facilities as well. There's no well﹣designed path for the blind. In fact. in the early 2000s, some cities started to build barrier﹣free facilities for disabled people. However, almost 20 years later, only a few large cities have had facilities of high quality.
It's common that sidewalks are taken up with barriers. Few workers are sent to move them away, so it's dangerous for the blind to walk on them. Also, some other barrier﹣free facilities are badly destroyed(毁坏). Only a few workers are assigned (分配) to do the task of repairing the broken ones.
Some ideas can make a difference﹣build more barrier﹣free facilities and employ more of them require money. In a word, more money is needed to carry on with the work. It's our duty to make life easy for disabled people, so that they can live without barriers some day.

Food waste is a world's problem. Every year, about 1.3billion tons, or one﹣third of all the food produced is thrown away, according to a survey. Using just 25percent of that wasted food could feed 870million hungry people, which would end world hunger. The people of France wasted 234pounds(磅:重量单位) of food per person, which is much better than some other countries. In the past, France wasn't good at controlling food waste, but now the country takes the lead.
A law was made by French government. It made France the first country in the world to prevent supermarkets from throwing away unused food. Now supermarkets of a certain size must donate unused food, or they will face a fine. There are other rules requiring schools to teach students about food sustainability (可持续性). They also ask companies to report the food waste numbers in their environmental reports. And restaurants should provide take﹣out bags.
"These laws make it a standard to reduce waste." says Marie Mourad, a student in Paris who has written several reports on French food waste. "France is not the country that wastes the least food, but Frenchmen have become the most active because they want to be the example in Europe."
"Preventing supermarkets from throwing away food means a lot," says Jonathan Bloom, a famous writer. "This step has influenced parts of French food industry."
It is everyone's duty to fight against food waste. Everyone should pay attention and take action.
