One night, I was on my home for my Christmas holiday when my car broke down. It was complete dead, and I was a few miles away from my home in that cold, wet night. I decided to walk around a little after accepting that I’d have to spend the night in the car. Maybe I can find a telephone. Actually, I didn’t have to walk far before I found the small house standing in a field with a light shone from the sitting room. I knocked the door and was delighting when a pleasant old man opened the door and listened to my story carefully. He said he had no telephone and that it wasn’t any within walking distance, but the old man who offered to go to repair my car.

I was in my way home from college when I got a phone call, telling me that my best friend sudden passed away. On heard the news, I sat on the ground and cried. People stepped over us. Not only does our parents give us life, but they give us endlessly love and support, and always share with our happiness and sorrow. I’m very grateful to my parent who give me so much love and spare no effort to support myself. I still remember once I was seriously ill, and they were so worried and almost keep me company the whole night. Now I’m in Senior 3. My soccer coach retired in last week．I wanted to do anything special for him at his retirement party．My mum makes the better biscuits in the world，so I decide to ask her for help．Mum taught me some basic step of baking．I insisted on doing most of the baking myself. I thought the biscuits were really well．My only mistake was that I dropped some on the floor after I was packing them up．
At a party, my coach, with a biscuit in his mouth, asked surprisingly who made them and joked,“I might have to retire again next year just get some more of these biscuits.”
My favorite picture at the party is of my coach and me enjoy the biscuits with happy laughter!

SQ3R stand for five steps in the reading process: Survey, Question, Read, Review and Recite. The first step is survey, which helps you to predict how the author is going to say. Today my classmate and I went to a farm for a trip. I get up at six o’ clock and we set off by bus. On the bus, some of us sang, and some of us talked. We all had good time. It was 7:15 in the morning of February 8, 2008. I was walking along Park Road towards the east while an old man came out of the park on the other sides of the street. The car didn’t stop and drive off at full speed heading west. I noticed the driver was a young woman wore a pair of glasses and the plate number was AC864. After two minutes later, I stopped a passing car but took the old man to the nearest hospital.
