I can’t swim so I have a strong fear of water. Look back at my childhood, I think that three reasons might explain fear. Firstly, I am not allowed to go near the water when I was a child, as my mother had an unreasonable fear of it. Therefore, I was taught to see to the water as something danger. Secondly, my eyes became bad when I was five. If I took off my glass in the water, I couldn’t see something, and this increased my fear. What’s worse, for a child I once saw a neighbor drowned. Since then I have been more frightening.

When I began my senior high school years, I had difficulty to learning English. I dared not speak English in public because my poor pronounce. I’m a senior 3 student. The college entrance exams are in the way and everyone around us is trying their best to help me. During the weekend, I travelled on a plane the first time in my life. I generally travel by train and bus, which is both very cheaper and safer. But that was a long journey, about hundreds of kilometers far away from our city. In the beginning, I didn’t feel very happy, and this feeling didn’t last long. The ride on the plane then is of great excitement. I was soon highly up in the air among the cloud. The views of mountains, fields and rivers were very amazed. I enjoyed my comfortable journey a lot. Nobody can succeed without making mistakes. I can well remember that last year an English speech contest held in our school. One day I was in the back yard teaching my little nephew how to play football. He said that play football was something easier. His words immediately bring back memories of my childhood. As a little boy, I told my uncle I wanted to become football star like him. However, he taught me how to kick the ball.
