Many people are fearful when talking to new people. After all, meeting strangers means   (face) the unknown. Actually, most of our fears about dealing with new people come   doubts about ourselves. We imagine that other people   (judge) us, finding us too tall of too short, too this or too that. But don’t forget that they must be feeling the same way. Try to accept what you are,   you’ll feel more comfortable.
Try to act with  (confident) even if you don’t feel that way. When you enter a room full of strangers, such as a new classroom, walk tall and straight, look(direct) at other people and smile. If you see someone you’d like to speak to, don’t wait for him/her to start a conversation.
Just meeting someone new doesn’t mean that you’ll make friends with that person.  takes time and effort to develop a friendship.

After graduation from college, I started to sell. Soon I discovered that the worried expression I     (wear) since childhood meant sure failure. I knew it wasn't going to be easy to change that expression on my face left by so many years of      (hard). It called for a complete change in my view on life. Here is the method I tried.
Each morning during a fifteenminute bath, I determined to cultivate a big, happy smile. I found out, however, that it couldn't be a     (force) smile developed just for the purpose of putting dollars in my pocket. It had to be      honesttogoodness smile from down deep inside, an outward expression of happiness from within!
Let's see      starting off with a good fifteenminute training of the smile muscles helped me during the day.   entering an office I would think of many things I had to be thankful for, work up a big smile and then enter. Seldom did it fail      (get) the same smile       return from the person I met. I also found that it pleased people when I passed them on the street to give them a cheerful smile.
Give every living soul you meet the best smile you have ever smiled in your life,       see how much better you feel and look. It's one of the best ways I know to stop worrying, and start living. When I began doing this, I found       more welcome everywhere.

Have you ever noticed this phenomenon? Sometimes Chinese English teachers are puzzled by such questions, "Could you please give me some advice     how to improve my reading comprehension?"
Actually, many of the teachers can't give their students      effective way to deal with reading. Anyway, they often simply say, "Read      and practise more, and you will get more experience in reading comprehension. "  Frankly, these teachers' good suggestions are only helpful to arouse (激起) students' interest in reading        not helpful to deal with the questions in the examinations of reading comprehension. Personally,      think the skill for reading comprehension should be based on the knowledge of English writing.     the English passages are written under some rules or principles, the science of reading and understanding may have a close relationship with writing. Reading comprehension can't be independent      the knowledge of
writing. So to do better in reading comprehension      ever, we should learn the knowledge of writing, study how questions are designed and the relationship between questions and the reading materials.
