Regardless of the weather or the distance, Paul Wilson will make sure low-income students in his neighbourhood arrive at their college classes on time.

A retired engineer, 76-year-old Wilson has been         1       free rides to college students for the past eight years. Since he first started         2       his car to the young people. Wilson has         3       am astonishing 64, 000 miles, and has had countless pleasant and often humorous         4       with the students he transports to and from school. The students who he's         5       have gone on to become physicians, teachers and engineers, but what they've also got out of their time in school is finding a role model and a friend in Wilson. Some students         6       call him "Grandpa".

Tina Stern         7       rides from Wilson for all her four years in college, and the trips meant much more to her than just free         8       . "It's not just a ride;you're not just sitting there in         9       silence or with your headphones on." Stern said. "He asks you questions and actually         10       the answers, so the next time you ride with him, he'll         11       those things."

Wilson first worked as a driver through a student-support programme of the non-profit organisation. On Point for College. Although the         12       asks the members only to drive students to and from their classes, Wilson often goes         13       to ensure the welfare and safety of the students. If they have problems with registration.

Wilson is there to         14       them. If they run out of certain daily necessities. Wilson will drive to the nearest store and purchase what's needed. If a student gets hungry on the long drives to and from school, Wilson never         15       to buy them a meal.

For many students, Wilson's help is not only appreciated, it's also entirely         16       for them to be able to complete their college education. Some students don't have a reliable car, while others have to         17       vehicles with parents who work six days a week. For them, riding with Wilson has         18       them to complete their education-but according to Wilson, he benefits just as much from the         19       . "I just love driving and I love these kids, "Wilson said. "It's such a(n)         20       to be a part of these kids' lives, even just for a few hours, getting to know them and hearing their stories."

Relationships are hard. It doesn't matter whether it is a relationship      two workmates, a doctor and a patient, a mother and her child or a couple. The fact is,      it  is a relationship involving people, there will always be conflicts once in a while because       human beings are complicated(复杂的).
I guess even in the animal kingdom there are complications, too. For instance, just last weekend l thought my neighbor's cows were      .They like standing outside our gate where there is a huge tree they use to        themselves from the burning sun. Anyway, it was quite         that the grey cow was angry about something and since I didn't      “cows", I couldn't tell what she was complaining about. My guess was that one of the other cows had done/said something to   . her because there was one cow she kept ”addressing".
I guess this goes to     tat as long as one is breathing (man or animal), misunderstandings and       .will always happen, regardless of whether it is at home or at the office, until one is finally
The         is how you handle your displeasure. How do you conduct your arguments? What words do you use7 After the argument, do you ever sit back and probably      anything that you might have said in anger? I ask this        I know for a fact that when you are angry, the likelihood of having the best       you'll ever regret is very high. The words you speak to someone can either build them up, or break them down, or start
a       in their heart or put it out completely. That is how       words are. Words have the power to      or destroy.
If you do not want to hurt those you come into     with, remember to be careful with your words because once they are        ,they can only be forgiven, not forgotten。

I was ready to pay for my bananas at the grocery one night, when fear seized me. My wallet was gone. I could only have left it on the G9 bus, which was now speeding in the dark to some         1      station.

The         2      moment was quickly followed by mental math. How much time and money would it cost to replace the         3      of that little wallet? The credit cards, the driver's license, the cash, all lost to the bus.

Two hours later, back at my house, I heard a knock on the door. My husband         4      it while I was on the phone in the dining room. "Does Jennifer live here?" I heard a lady say. In my husband's hand was my wallet, with not a penny         5      . She left before I could         6      make it to the door to offer my thanks.

After sharing the story online, I heard from someone, who         7      the lady as Erin Smith. Without         8     , I called to thank her. She said she         9      my wallet on a bus seat. She         10      that going to a stranger's house was a         11      move, but she decided to take the chance. "If I were in that         12      . I would want someone to try to find me," she said.

This one stranger responded beautifully to my small         13     , but she actually wasn't the only one. Right after Erin         14      my wallet on the bus, she posted a picture of my driver's license to an online forum(论坛), trying to see         15      anyone knew me. No sooner did she leave my doorstep than I had emails from two women whose kids go to my son's nursery and who recognized my face. I've never         16      words with those moms beyond small talk, but they wanted to help. I read that people are more divided than ever, but that's not how the people I         17      tend to act.

18      , I feel blessed someone had wanted to help a stranger. Erin had gone         19      what almost anyone would have done, finding my house on a bitterly cold night, and for that I was extremely         20     .

It's about 250 miles from the hills of west-central Iowa to Ehlers' home in Minnesota. During the long trip home, following a weekend of hunting, Ehlers         1       about the small dog he had seen         2       alongside the road. He had         3       to coax(哄)the dog to him but, frightened, it had         4       .

Back home, Ehlers was troubled by that         5       dog. So, four days later, he called his friend Greg, and the two drove         6       . After a long and careful         7       . Greg saw, across a field, the dog moving         8       away. Ehlers eventually succeeded in coaxing the animal to him. Nervousness and fear were replaced with         9       . It just started licking(舔)Ehlers' face.

A local farmer told them the dog sounded like one         10       as lost in the local paper. The ad had a         11       number for a town in southern Michigan. Ehlers         12       the number of Jeff and Lisa to tell them he had         13       their dog.

Jeff had         14       in Iowa before Thanksgiving with his dog, Rosie, but the gun shots had scared the dog off. Jeff searched         15       for Rosie in the next four days.

Ehlers returned to Minnesotan, and then drove 100 miles to Minneapolis to put Rosie on a flight to Michigan. "It's good to know there's still someone out there who         16       enough to go to that kind of         17       ," says Lisa of Ehlers' rescue         18       .

I figured whoever lost the dog was probably just as         19       to it as I am to my dogs," says Ehlers. "If it had been my dog, I'd hope that somebody would be         20       to go that extra mile."

It was the greatest 34 of my daughter's life. With all she had been 35 in her ten years, this was the hour of true triumph(成功).
