Life is filled with challenges. As we get older we realize that those challenges are the very things that us and make us who we are. It is the same with the challenges that come with .
When we are faced with a challenge, we usually have two . We can try to beat it off, or we can decide that the thing the challenge isn't worth the and call it quits. Although there are certainly when calling it quits is the right thing to do, in most all that is needed is and communication.
When we are committed to something, it means that no matter how or how uncomfortable something is, we will always choose to it and work it through instead of running away from it. Communication is making a for discussion and talking about how you feel as opposed to just saying what the other person did wrong. you can say to a friend, "I got my feeling hurt," "You hurt my feelings," you are going to be able to solve the problem much faster.
In dealing with the many challenges that friendship will bring to you, try to see them for they are: small hurdles you need to jump or on your way through life. Nothing is so big that it is to get over, and hurt only to make us stronger. It is all part of growing up, it to everyone, and some day you will all of this and say, "Hard as it was, it made me who I am today. And that is a good thing."

My friend BJ Gallagher once worked as a training manager for a large newspaper, which was more than a hundred years old.The company’s past had blinded the authorities to the need for change, and they new ideas and would say “This is the way we’ve always done it.”.As the years went by, BJ grew more and more with their short-sightedness.Finally, she left the company. But she found that she hadn’t left her behind when she resigned. She carried it with her, like “rocks in the stomach”.
“I finally decided to about my experiences and my feelings.I it would be a good mental health .I wanted to be rid of that company and those people, once and for all.So I wrote and wrote. It wasn’t just a story that poured out — it was a whole ! My resentment (怨恨) my writing. The whole world would know how they were!”
“What when the book came out?” I asked BJ.
“Not much,” she replied, “The newspaper kept doing what it had done.My feelings didn’t them one bit, but it took me several more years to finally my negative emotions. Finally, the time came when I decided to make amends (修正) for the angry things I had said about the company.I my former boss to dinner and made my .I told him I was sorry for being so resentful. It was a great healing process for me.”
“What was the outcome?” I asked her.
“Gratitude,” she replied, “Not only wasn’t I resentful any more, but I was grateful to the company. If I hadn’t had those experiences, I never would have written a book. And the book became hugely successful — now in 21 languages. In short, my resentment gave way to gratitude.”
She smiled, “I owe them a debt of thanks for giving me such a great tale to tell.”
Trading resentments for gratitude isn’t always easy. But it’s worth it, gratitude is a far happier feeling than resentment.

I wished I had known earlier the fact that I was a low achiever because there was a reason beyond my control. Then I have worked so hard in my late twenties and early thirties. But I just didn’t that. I was writing and writing. I was working for no other reason than to hear people praise me.
Most people who university read at least twice as fast as I do. I can never tell my left my right. I avoid dialing a telephone if I can help it, because I sometimes have to try three times before getting the number . I hear that recording “The number you have reached is not ” more than any man on earth.
Despite my I view my dyslexia(difficulty in reading) as a gift, not a curse(诅咒). Many dyslexics are good at right brain, namely abstract thought ,and that is my king of creative writing is. I’m starting with and coming up with something that didn’t exist before. That’s my strong point. I my career to Ralph, Salisbury, my writing instructor at the university of Oregon, who looked past my misspellings and gave me and hope. I just carried on and never looked . I’m also very“visual”(视觉的).This means nothing in school, but when I write books or scripts, I’m seeing everything in my imagination. I write . I go like the wind and can up to 15 pages a day. Writing is not the . I have no problem downloading; it is inputting things get messed up.
The real I have for dyslexics is not that they have to with messy input, but that they will quit on themselves before they finish school. Parents have to create victories whenever they can, it is music, sports or the arts. You want your dyslexic child to be able to say, “Yeah, reading is . But I have these other things I can do.”

"How did you do it, Dad? How have you to not take a drink for almost 20 years?" It took me almost 20 years to have the to even ask my father this very personal question. When Dad first drinking, the whole family was on pins and needles every time he a situation that, in the past, would have him drinking again. For a few years we were afraid to bring it up the drinking would begin again.
"I had this little poem that I recite to myself at least four to five times a day," was Dad's reply to my 18-year-old question. "The words were an instant relief and constant to me that things were never so that I could not handle them," Dad said. And then he the poem with me. The poem's simple, yet profound words immediately became part of my daily as well.

I opened the book to November 10 to what words of wisdom this book had in store for me. I did a double-take and tears of and appreciation rolled down my face. There, on my birthday, was the same poem that had helped my father for all these years! It is called the Serenity (安详)Prayer:
God, grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the Courage to change the things I can; and the Wisdom to know the difference.

Everyone enjoys a fitting reply; it is wonderful to say the right thing at the right time!
When I was a senior in high school, I knew I wanted to pursue writing as a career.
Writing had basically me when I was only 7 years old, since that time, I’d been bombarded by guidance counselors and career planners who all me to have “a back-up plan” in case writing didn’t work out.
I’d never even a different career path, so I was very and worried. After much thought, I decided would be my “back-up plan,” and I signed up for a class through my high school.
This that every morning, I would serve as a teacher’s helper for my favorite 6th grade teacher, Mr. Ralston. Morning after morning, I showed up in Mr. Ralston’s classroom and papers for him.
Sometimes, I even a lesson or two. It was fun, and the students seemed to like me, so I was surprised when it came time for my . Mr. Ralston looked me right in the eyes and asked, “Do you really want to teach?”
“Had I really been that ?” I thought.
“Don’t misunderstand. You’ll do fine in teaching,” he continued. “But, is your really in it?”
“Not really,” I . “I want to write. I want to write news stories and fiction and poetry and so much more…but I’ve been told it’s tough to make it as a writer I thought maybe I would teach and then use my summers to pursue writing.”
As I shared with Mr. Ralston my hopes, dreams and carefully plotted-out back-up plan, he smiled and said, “Why are you preparing to with this back-up plan? If you want to be a writer, go for it! Pursue writing!”
Mr. Ralston’s to follow my dreams was the little nudge I needed to help me push past my of not making it as a writer and simply “Go for it!”
That’s what an encouraging word will do when spoken in love in season. So, let’s try and be like Mr. Ralston and speak that word of encouragement at just the right time and make a difference in someone’s life today.

What is real success? I am sure many would come up with answers like lots of money, a big house, a new car, and so on.
It has been interesting to see how my own idea of success has through the years. When I was young, I was eagerly reaching for material success. I chose my jobs accordingly and ended up in . Sure enough, I did earn some pretty good pay checks.
But then a different feeling started to . I began to realize selling was not what I wanted to do all my life. After all I was often forced to sell products that did not really suit customers. All that matters is the amount of money that is made. I became very unhappy.
I came to realize that even with big pay checks I did not feel successful. That is when my search for success turned inwards, I sales and chose another profession–helping people. The feeling of relief and belonging was great–and suddenly I felt successful again. Even though I earned than before, I was much more content.
Then I returned to my old love–writing.
I realized I felt most successful when I loved what I did never the money. Then for my own I define success by the feeling of contentment.
Always remember–you are not here to anyone else’s life but your own. It is not your obligation (义务) to please others with your life – only yourself, because only if you are happy yourself can you happiness to others. You cannot give what you do not have.
So be true to yourself and your own joyful path to your own of success.

When a neighbor me up and told me that my mother had been taken off in an ambulance, the first thing I did was similar, which was to ring Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The paramedics(护理人员) had told my neighbor that my mother would ________be taken there, I was told that no one by that name had been ,so they gave me the numbers of two other West Midland hospitals. Both of them also ________ that they were holding my mother.I rang the and asked them to find her,but the nice officer said he could only do that if she had been reported as a(n) person.
It took six calls to my mother. She had been in Queen Elizabeth Hospital all along, but because their computer system hadn't been updated overnight, there was no record of her .My mother had spent more than a in the hospital when it turned out there was nothing with her.I managed to get her out within 10 days, but only by agreeing that in the future, she would live downstairs. In return, the hospital said they would for a social worker to visit the house three or four rimes a day.
Luckily,my mother is safe.Thank all the people who have given their help to us.
